V-belts
V-belts transmit power by friction between the sides of the belt and the pulley groove. They are used in fans, compressors, pumps, agricultural machines and common workshop drives.
When choosing, the profile, internal or effective length, width and height of the belt decide. With a worn belt, the size can change, so it is better to also check the markings on the old piece or the size of the pulley.
- determine the belt profile by width and height
- describe all the markings from the old belt
- check the number of belts in the set and their matching length
- do not overlook the condition of the pulley grooves and tension
