52209 ZKL double-direction thrust bearing

52209 ZKL is a double-direction thrust ball bearing for axial shaft location and axial loads in both directions. The assembly consists of one shaft washer, two housing washers and two ball-and-cage assemblies. Its individual parts are separable, simplifying mounting and inspection.

Installation and operation

The two housing washers seat against fixed abutment surfaces while the shaft washer is guided on the shaft. Abutment surfaces must be clean, flat and perpendicular to the axis so that the load is distributed evenly. During operation, the bearing requires sufficient axial load and appropriate lubrication; do not use it to carry radial forces. Before replacement, compare the 52209 designation and all mounting dimensions with the original assembly.
