Sprockets
Sprockets transfer motion between the shaft and the chain. The correct wheel must correspond to the chain pitch, the number of teeth and the method of attachment to the shaft.
When choosing, look at the number of teeth, the pitch, the width of the teeth, the diameter of the hub and the hole. Some wheels require a keyway, set screw or hole adjustment.
- compare chain pitch and number of teeth
- measure bore, hub and overall diameter
- verify pen slot or other means of securing
- leave a margin for alignment and proper chain tension
