608 ZC4 ZKL single-row deep-groove ball bearing
The 608 Z C4 bearing from ZKL has deep raceways and compact dimensions. It is designed primarily for radial loads and can also support limited axial loads in both directions.

Meaning of Z C4
- Z: a non-contact metal shield on one side; the opposite side remains open,
- C4: radial internal clearance greater than C3 and substantially greater than normal,
- the additional clearance can compensate for clearance reduction caused by a tight fit or elevated operating temperature,
- C4 is not a quality grade and must match the machine design requirements.
Mounting and use
The single shield limits entry of common solid contaminants from the shielded side but is not liquid-tight. The open side requires lubrication and protection provided by the surrounding design. Apply mounting force only through the ring with the interference fit. Standard 608, normal-clearance 608-Z and other variants are not automatically equivalent substitutes.
