SKF 6306-2Z/C3 – double-shielded deep-groove ball bearing with C3 clearance
The SKF 6306-2Z/C3 is a single-row deep-groove ball bearing intended mainly for radial loads while also carrying limited axial loads in both directions. Non-contact 2Z metal shields help retain lubricant and protect the raceways from ordinary particles with little added friction; they do not provide a liquid-tight seal. C3 indicates radial clearance greater than normal and must suit the bearing arrangement.

Application and mounting
C3 designs are used where thermal expansion, tight fits or other engineering conditions reduce operating clearance. C3 is not automatically a suitable replacement for normal clearance. Apply mounting force only through the ring with the interference fit; never transmit it through the balls or deform the shields.

Compare the 30 × 72 × 19 mm dimensions and complete designation, including 2Z and C3. Open 6306, normal-clearance, single-shield Z and rubber-sealed 2RS versions are not automatically interchangeable.
