Electric motors

Electric motors are machines that convert electrical energy into mechanical energy. This process occurs through the utilization of electromagnetism, where an electric current passing through a coil generates a magnetic field, which then drives the motor's rotor, creating motion. Electric motors can be found all around us – from household appliances like mixers and vacuum cleaners, through power tools, to industrial machinery and transportation vehicles such as electric cars and trains.

There are various types of electric motors, differing in their operating principle, construction, and the voltage used. The most common ones are asynchronous (induction) motors, favored for their simplicity, reliability, and affordability. Another type is synchronous motors, characterized by the rotor's rotation speed being directly synchronized with the frequency of the supplied current.

Electric motors play a crucial role in modern industry and technologies as they provide an efficient and clean means of energy conversion. Due to their ability to effectively utilize electrical energy and convert it into mechanical work, they contribute to reducing the consumption of fossil fuels and greenhouse gas emissions, thus paving the way for a more sustainable and environmentally friendly economy.
