Swivel / hinged eyes
Pivoting and hinged eyes enable the transmission of force between rods, cylinders and levers even when the angle is changed. They are used in mechanical linkages, hydraulics, pneumatics and adjustment mechanisms.
When choosing, the diameter of the eye, width, thread, body length and type of hinged bearing are decisive. The direction of the load and the room for joint deflection are also important.
- measure the inside diameter of the eye and the width of the head
- check the external or internal thread and its pitch
- check the right or left thread
- consider load, deflection angle and lubrication
