Sliding bushings and rings
Sliding bushings and rings are used where simple, space-saving and durable storage is needed. Instead of balls or rollers, a sliding surface works, which transfers the load over a larger area.
The choice depends on the inside and outside diameter, length, material and lubrication method. The offer often includes bronze bushings, self-lubricating bushings, flanged variants or axial sliding rings.
It is a mistake to choose a bushing based only on the diameter of the shaft and overlook the load, speed of movement or the environment. The quality of the contact is also important for sliding bearings.
- measure the inside diameter, outside diameter and length
- distinguish between cylindrical, flanged and axial designs
- verify dry operation, lubrication or self-lubricating material
- check load, feed rate and shaft quality
